ORANGE COUNTY GIRLS VOLLEYBALL TOP 10
Records through Oct. 19
1. Mater Dei (28-4): The Monarchs went 6-0 in the Trinity League to win the league championship. They are seeded third in the CIF Southern Section’s top playoffs division, Division 1.
2. Los Alamitos (27-8): The Griffins finished 12-0 in the Sunset League to win the league championship. They play at South Coast League champion San Juan Hills in the first round of the CIF-SS Division 1 playoffs Wednesday.
3. San Juan Hills (20-5): The Stallions won the South Coast League championship with an 8-0 league record. They are at home Wednesday for a Division 1 first-round playoffs match against Sunset League champion Los Alamitos.
4. Newport Harbor (25-8): The Sailors finished second in the Sunset League with a 10-2 league record. Their only league losses were to league champion Los Alamitos. Newport Harbor plays at Mira Costa in the Division 1 playoffs first round Wednesday.
5. Crean Lutheran (24-2): The Saints played their way to a berth in the CIF-SS Division 1 playoffs. They went 7-1 in the Freeway League to win the league championship, including a sweep of Foothill in the final week of the regular season. Crean Lutheran plays at Harvard-Westlake on Wednesday in a Division 1 playoffs first-round match.
6. San Clemente (24-10): The Tritons went 8-0 in the Sea View League to win the league championship. They play at home against Louisville in a CIF-SS Division 2 playoffs first-round match Tuesday (Oct. 21).
6. Foothill (19-5): The Knights got a huge victory Thursday with a 3-2 win over Crean Lutheran in a Freeway League match.
7. Santa Margarita (20-10): The Eagles qualified for the Division 2 playoffs after finishing second in the Trinity League. They play at home against Los Osos in the first round of the playoffs on Tuesday.
8. JSerra (16-14): The Lions finished third in the Trinity League. They qualified for an at-large berth in the Division 2 playoffs and will be home against Windward in the first round Tuesday.
9. Orange Lutheran (24-10): The Lancers went 0-6 in the Trinity League but qualified for the Division 2 playoffs as an at-large team. They play at home against Crestview League co-champion Sunny Hills on Tuesday.
10. Sunny Hills (19-6): The Lancers tied with Cypress for the Crestview League championship with a 6-2 league record. They play at Orange Lutheran in a Division 2 first-round match Tuesday.
