ORANGE COUNTY FOOTBALL TOP 25 POLL

Notable this week: Mater Dei is No. 1 again after it defeated Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas and Mission Viejo, which was No. 1 in last week’s poll, lost in Tennessee to McCallie. … Tustin moves up from No. 12 to No. 9 after a 21-7 win over Yorba Linda. … JSerra continues its rise in the rankings, climbing three sports to No. 7 after a third straight victory. … Crean Lutheran enters the Top 10 after a 38-14 victory over La Serna.

Chris Henry Jr. had six catches for 115 yards and a touchdown, Mark Bowman had two touchdown receptions and Ryan Hopkins passed for 251 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for a team-high 67 yards. 3. Santa Margarita 3-1 (69)

The Eagles did not play last week. They play Bishop Gorman on Saturday night at Tesoro High. How well Santa Margarita does against Bishop Gorman will provide an idea of where the Eagles fit in the Trinity League, with Gorman having just lost to Mater Dei last week by three points.

4. Orange Lutheran 3-2 (66)

The Lancers lost big to Sierra Canyon 41-9. That might say more about how good Sierra Canyon is than it does about Orange Lutheran. Orange Lutheran, which beat Serra of Gardena the previous week, has its bye this week before playing a Trinity League opener on Oct. 3 against Mater Dei at Orange Coast College.
