BOYS BASKETBALL TOP 25
1. Santa Margarita 24-3: The Eagles rallied from a 15-point, fourth-quarter deficit to beat Mater Dei, 74-73, for their first win over the Monarchs as the visiting team. They also beat Orange Lutheran, 102-81, to finish tied with St. John Bosco for first place in the Trinity League.

2. Crean Lutheran 21-7: The Saints clinched the Crestview League championship with league wins of 76-67 over La Habra and 78-65 over Foothill to finish 7-1 in league.

3. JSerra 17-11: Jaden Bailes’ buzzer-beater basket gave the Lions a 67-66 win at Mater Dei, and they beat Servite 89-47 in another Trinity League game. They finished tied with Orange Lutheran for third place.

4. Corona del Mar 26-1: The Sea Kings had a couple of one-sided wins in the Sunset League last week, 63-30 over Edison and 73-45 over Huntington Beach, to improve to 11-0 in league.

5. Mater Dei 16-12: The Monarchs lost two close games in the Trinity League, 67-66 to JSerra and 74-73 to Santa Margarita. They had the lead in the fourth quarter in both games.

6. Orange Lutheran 18-8: Josh King scored 22 points and Noah Zeolo scored 17 for the Lancers in their 72-68 upset win over St. John Bosco.

7. Los Alamitos 18-9: The Griffins won three Sunset League games last week – 86-69 over Marina, 71-52 over Fountain Valley and 74-60 over Newport Harbor — to move to 9-2 in league.

8. La Habra 20-7: The Highlanders, despite 26 points from senior Acen Jimenez, lost to Crean Lutheran, 76-67, and will finish second in the five-team Crestview League.
