The man suspected of killing a 38-year-old woman, whose body was found in a trash can in his backyard, was her boyfriend, Costa Mesa police said on Wednesday, Oct. 23.

Around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22, the body of Julie Anne Sanetra, 38, of Irvine was found at the home on the 1900 block of Maple Avenue.

The home belonged to her boyfriend, Daniel Allen Aldrich, 49, who was arrested on suspicion of murder at a relative’s home in Glendale that evening.

The events leading up to the murder were unclear.

There had been no police calls for domestic issues at the house where the body was found between the couple, police spokeswoman Roxi Fyad said.

Details regarding the exact cause and time of death were not disclosed by police; the investigation was ongoing. A possible motive was not released, either.

Witnesses said gardeners found the body, KCAL News reported.
