New and former UC Irvine students celebrated a big milestone with a weekend of camaraderie.
The university’s 60th anniversary made homecoming weekend that much more special as students and alumni celebrated with two days of activities, including block party Saturday before the UCI men’s basketball team defeated UC Santa Barbara 64-60 to remain tied atop the Big West standings.
The weekend, which started with a men’s volleyball match against UCLA, featured open houses and school tours, a community brunch and class celebrations, among other events. Sunday night was UCI Spirit Night at the Ducks’ game.
