Beginning this weekend, there are multiple options for voters to cast their ballots in Orange County – from voting in person on Election Day to returning a ballot by mail.

Pop-up voting centers, operated by the Orange County Registrar of Voters, will also be available starting this weekend. These vote centers are essentially a pop-up trailer staffed by trained poll workers that can help residents register to vote, issue replacement ballots, provide assistance and accessible voting, and offer a secure ballot drop-off.

The first pop-up voting place opens on Saturday, Oct. 29 in the Garden Grove City Hall parking lot at 11222 Acacia Pkwy. from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

It will then move to:

— The Adams parking lot of Orange Coast College at 2701 Fairview Rd., in Costa Mesa on Monday, Oct. 31.

— Parking Lot 4 of the Lakeview Senior Center at 20 Lake Rd. in Irvine on Wednesday, Nov. 2.

— The Brea Senior Center parking lot at 500 Sievers Ave. in Brea on Friday, Nov. 4.

— The Santa Ana Zoo parking lot at 1801 E. Chestnut Ave. in Santa Ana on Sunday, Nov. 6.

Pop-up voting centers will all be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The pop-ups first debuted in Orange County in 2018, becoming the first such voting centers in California.

These vote centers are more mobile versions of the dozens of vote centers opening in community centers, libraries, and other locations around Orange County this weekend as well. The first wave of these vote centers will open on Saturday, Oct. 29 through Nov. 8, Election Day. More will open on Nov. 5.

Vote centers are staffed by teams who receive comprehensive training prior to work, according to the Registrar’s office.

Nearly 197,000 ballots have already been returned in Orange County as of Friday morning, according to the Registrar’s data. Nearly 1.84 million ballots were issued this year.
