The Orange County high school boys water polo rankings for Sept. 30, 2025:

1. Newport Harbor 12-0 (1): The Sailors and Cathedral Catholic are seeded first and second, respectively, for the Elite 8 this week. Newport Harbor is the defending champion for the tournament, which runs Thursday through Saturday at Harvard-Westlake.
2. JSerra 10-3 (2): The Lions open the Elite 8 against Miramonte on Thursday. The Northern California power edged JSerra 6-5 in overtime for fifth place at the South Coast Tournament.
3. Corona del Mar 14-2 (3): The Sea Kings beat Huntington Beach 15-9 and Harvard-Westlake 15-11 last week to build momentum for the Elite 8. CdM opens the tournament against Cathedral Catholic.
4. Santa Margarita 14-2 (4): The Eagles play at Mater Dei on Wednesday in a key Trinity League match. They also kick off a showcase hosted by Mira Costa on Saturday by playing the Mustangs at 11 a.m. Mira Costa captured its first title at the S & R Sport Tournament last weekend.
5. Mater Dei 7-7 (5): The Monarchs opened Trinity League by defeating Orange Lutheran 17-10.
6. Laguna Beach 11-6 (6): The Breakers were tied at halftime with Santa Margarita last week before falling 16-12. Zachary Hornstein scored a season-high four goals for Laguna Beach.
7. Huntington Beach 9-13 (10): The Oilers edged Crean Lutheran 10-9 for seventh-place at the S & R Sport Tournament.
8. Beckman 11-6 (not ranked): The Patriots beat San Juan Hills, Canyon and San Clemente to go 3-0 last week. They’re 2-0 in the South Coast League.
9. Crean Lutheran 10-9 (not ranked): The Saints debut in the Top 10 after defeating Foothill 14-12 in a Crestview League showdown last week.
10. Foothill 9-9 (7): The Knights recovered from their first loss against Crean Lutheran to place fifth at their S & R tournament. Foothill edged Huntington Beach 10-9 in the fifth-place match.
